Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria
Enrico Caruso (the “famous tenor”) stayed at the Excelsior Vittoria. The hotel is cliffside, overlooking the Gulf of Naples. Caruso’s stay there directly inspired another singer–songwriter, Lucio Dalla, to compose the famous song “Caruso.”
Dalla wrote it in the 1980s while staying in the same hotel suite where Caruso once lived.
